The Information We Collect
When you visit Chronicle of Life, you provide us with two types of information: personal information you knowingly choose to disclose that is collected by us, and website use information collected by us as you interact with our website.
Personal information we collect includes your profile information, such as your name, email address and username, and any other personal information, content or files you provide to us. Your payment information (credit card details) will not be stored on our servers.
You do not need to provide personal information to use the Service. If you do not register with us, or if you choose to visit the website anonymously, you will still be permitted to view all public pages. However, you will not, among other things, be able to add Content to the Service, or comment on Content which has been posted by others.
When you visit our site, we collect your browser type and IP address. This information is gathered for all visitors. In addition, we store certain information from your browser using "cookies." A cookie is a piece of data stored on the user's computer, tied to information about the user. We use session ID cookies to confirm that users are logged in. These cookies terminate once the user closes the browser.
The Way We Use Information

To save and display your content
We save your content forever and display it on your private pages or public pages, depending on your privacy settings. However, all content will be made public 100 years after the date of initial creation. Your name and profile picture thumbnail will be available in search results across the website. This is primarily so your family and friends can find and read your content. People who see your name in searches, however, will not be able to access your other information, unless you invited them or made the information public.

To process transactions
We do not process or store your credit card information on our servers. When you purchase permanent storage space, you are directed to a secure page hosted by authorize.net, a leading internet payment gateway, to collect your credit card details and authorize the transaction. Authorize.net is a Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard-compliant internet payment processor.

To send periodic emails
The email address you provide at registration will only be used to send you information and updates pertaining to your account, e.g., password reminders. If you decide to opt-in to our mailing list, you will receive emails that may include news, updates, related product or service information, etc. If at any time you would like to unsubscribe from receiving future emails, we include detailed unsubscribe instructions at the bottom of each email.
We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer to outside parties your personally identifiable information, public or private, other than for the express purpose of delivering the service requested. This restriction does not include website hosting partners and other trusted third parties who assist us in operating our website, conducting our business, or servicing you, so long as those parties agree to keep this information confidential. Invitations to Non-Members
Registered members can invite people to view their pages or join the site by sending invitations via email through our invitation system. We store the email addresses provided in order to facilitate invitation reminders to the same person. We do not sell or rent these email addresses or use them to send any other communication besides invitations. Recipients of invitations from Chronicle of Life may contact us to request the removal of their email addresses from our database.

Occasionally, we may include or offer third party products or services on our website. These third party sites have separate and independent privacy policies. How You Can Access, Correct or Delete Your Information

Members may edit or delete any of their information at any time by logging into their account. Information will be updated immediately. Deleted information may persist in backup copies for a reasonable period of time, but will not be generally available to anyone.
